Console appearance rare

XP Firefox 3.5.2
Most of the time when I press Shift-space, nothing happens.
Rarely do I see the console. This seems to be independent of the web page that I'm visiting.
For example, on wikipedia pages I see no console.
On this page, I see the console.
In fact, I was bewildered for quite a while: "What is all this about? What is a 'console'? What can I do at all with this?"
The requirement to create a github login to log a bug is also too much of a barrrier - but I persevered.

Is this issue related to the current release?

We thank you for your perserverence. We're hoping that either GitHub or CodebaseHQ will allow for anonymous ticketing. We'll keep you posted.

When I press Space-Shift, only sometimes does the console appear. yes current release.
What you really want is to share login from your site to github - of course. Maybe not so easy to do.
When I did see a console, it's seems interesting and powerful.

Yes, it's not quite consistent because there's something of a timer involved. This is because we don't want to accidentally trigger the console. You type shift+space more often than you think :) However we're looking to improve this logic in the 1.0 branches.
