This is a definite pain point and we are aware of it. Look forward to seeing improvements on how theme blocks handle colour schemes as the feature evolves. |

Lack of inheritance of the color scheme settings in nested blocks makes for a poor customization experience as of now.
Take the second section (Custom section) of the
reference-theme
index template and change the section (top-level) color scheme setting for a good example. At the moment, in order to change the section color scheme from one to another, a manual edit on all blocks containing a color scheme setting seems to be necessary. When I first changed the top color scheme setting, expecting for the whole section to switch colors, only parts of the section colors were changed.
Not really sure what would be the best way to implement it :
This simple operation, surely one of the first merchants will try on the future themes, could really make a bad first impression on a section relying heavily on the new theme blocks.
Not sure if it's in the pipe but that's what struck me the most when playing with the reference theme.
Still, can't wait to be there ! Clearly, a new paradigm of theme development is ahead !
I can add that I'm no expert on the color scheme settings. Feel free to correct me if it's simply a misuse on my part !
