"Service Name" and Hostname not showing up for logs

Hi!

I just setup SigNoz with Journald Receiver to ingest system logs and they all show up fine in logs.
but these are always empty

log entries include all necessary metadata like service.name and host.name

Oh, I had service.name as Attribute (in UI shows as Tag). Now I moved it to Resource and Service Name works now.

But Hostnames are still empty

@davispuh To get host name, host id, etc type metrics, you need to use the resourcedetection processor, and then add it to the service pipeline. That will add all sorts of host.* and cloud.* metrics available. Here is what I am using:

@KieranP @davispuh the incorrect key was used for the host name until recently. It is fixed in #6303

Awesome! Switched to develop build and it works :)
I already am using resourcedetection so my configuration is correct.

Another thing I noticed is that SigNoz is using deprecated deployment.environment . So if I set deployment.environment.name it doesn't work. See https://opentelemetry.io/docs/specs/semconv/attributes-registry/deployment/#deployment-attributes

This was bug in SigNoz, which is fixed so just update to latest version. See srikanthccv's comment.
