"Spinning beachball" on macOS when viewing project on shared drive

When you first click on and load details for a project located on a mapped/network drive, you can (depending on bandwidth/VPN/etc.) get a spinning beachball and the UI isn't able to respond until loading finishes.

This should be asynchronous, so delayed loading shouldn't lock the UI. We need to first identify why this issue is occurring, and then look to possible solutions to address it.
