This can also be used to track product metrics. The product metrics do not have to be stored in the same DB but they can be easily derived / queried from the activity logs.

Perhaps if we implement some kind of activity log or tracking then this can be also used to derive product metrics.

This will also be useful for billing people and troubleshooting problems. And for displaying to users some kind of activity feed in their dashboards that shows what has happened recently in a project.
