Steps Taken:

  • Set the filter to download May 2023 documents that had a Document Only Hold embargo.
  • Clicked download export and selected Excel Export and Active Filter from the choices before downloading.

What Happened:

  • On the first attempt, the page seemed to refresh but the download didn’t initiate. I waited and then retried. The second time, the download was successful, but the spreadsheet was empty

What was Expected Output:

  • The spreadsheet should contain the same information that was present in the Vireo filter (active filter)

On demos etd deployed from 4.2.4-staging:

Downloading export caused an error:

edu.tamu.weaver.auth.exception.UserNotFoundException: No User With Username anonymousUser

The issue seemed consistent across export types.

From demos, I get a spreadsheet with [object] as the contents of the spreadsheet.

On localhost (with more recent controls), I get a functioning and seemingly correct CSV downloaded.

It may be that Jason was not running as Admin.
I suspect Jason hit the nail on the head with the Authorization error.
There may be some access control problems.

I can confirm Manager role works, on localhost.
I can confirm Reviewer role works, on localhost.
Student role does not have access to the page to perform the download.

I will also have to test using the exact version of Vireo as seen on Demos.
