Hello Teammates Community,
We are a group of students from Iowa State University, currently enrolled in a Software Architecture and Design course. As part of our coursework, we have chosen to study your project to deepen our understanding of software architecture concepts in a real-world setting. We were drawn to this project because our class is using it as part of the peer review process for evaluating each other over the course of the semester. This makes it a valuable opportunity to study something that we are also users of. Our team hopes to learn a lot from this project while doing our best to meaningfully contribute.
Through our initial research, we have learned that the main goal of Teammates is to help students and educators manage peer evaluations and feedback easily using a cloud-based platform. We were particularly impressed by the programs ability to support different types of feedback, like team evaluations and instructor-student feedback, while letting users control who can see what, which aligns with the architectural principles we are studying. The use of angular in the project was also very appealing because it gives us an opportunity to experience a framework that is not common in our coursework.
Our focus in this project is to explore its architecture, analyze design patterns, and identify opportunities for improvement in the codebase or documentation. If we come across potential enhancements, we will follow the community’s process by responding to the related issue or requesting a new one if there isn’t one. Additionally, we will make sure to open a discussion if we have further questions before proceeding with a pull request. Please confirm if this is the correct approach.
We are excited to learn from and collaborate with the community. If you have any recommendations on where to start or specific areas that could use attention, we would love to hear your insights.
Looking forward to engaging with you all!
Best regards,
