This is a mode in which a user can specify a region in which they want the reference point to be. The likely solution for this is:

  • run DePSI until the PS selection (probably in a specially labeled directory initialization so that it does not get overwritten)
  • Figure out which PS are in the region
  • Select the one with the lowest NAD/NMAD
  • Force that one to be the reference point by passing it in ref_cn
