🌟 Organizing a stronger community

We are in the process of rearranging how the TE3 GitHub community is organized.
Our aim is to provide a better community experience for TE3 users by making it easier to start discussions, bring in new ideas and share experiences and knowledge with other Tabular Editor users.

The Tabular Editor team actively monitors the community and we are trying to engage has much as possible with you.

ℹ️ Separating issues

The first step we have taken is to separate the issues section to only focus on actual issues and bugs pertaining to Tabular Editor 3.
To this effect we introduce a new template for submitting new issues and a initial menu that will help guide to the right section.

When clicking the GitHub "New issue"-button, we show the following menu to help direct users to the right channel:

When submitting a bug report, we show the following template, to help users provide the most relevant information for us to look into the issue:

⚙️ New discussion categories

The categories in the discussion section have been changed to provide an overall sorting of new discussion, especially between ideas and other types of discussions.
The Tabular Editor team is committed to participate in these discussions as much as possible and we will give the same attention to new discussions as we give to new issues.

❓ 2-TE Q&A

A community forum for help on any Tabular Editor-related topic.

💡 3-Ideas

Requests for enhancement or new features inside Tabular Editor 3 go here. GitHub issues that had the "enhancement" label have been migrated here.

🧊 Data Modeling

A forum for general discussion about Power BI / SSAS, Fabric, DAX, and other data modeling topics not necessarily related to Tabular Editor.

🎓 Learn

Community support forum for tabulareditor.com/learn - our interactive learning platform. Ask questions and seek help!

💬 Other Topics

Uncategorized or other topics that do not fall into any of the other categories.

🔖 Better labeling of issues and discussion

The number of labels have been expanded to make it clearer what topics a discussion concerns or how far an issue has been triaged or accepted as a bug.
The discussion section will primarily use the labels starting with "content:" as these indicate what the discussion concerns.
The following labels are currently available, but we will add more as required.

📐 Code of Conduct

We have added a code of conduct to this repository that governs all communication on this platform. This will help ensure that the TE community is open and welcoming all everyone.
