  • Three months without activity.
  • Seems that Taiko2k move on to TauonMusicBox project.
  • It's a shame, because I really liked Avvie.

Well, TauonMusicBox is kind of abandoned as well. Or more I'd say they're in "Maintenance Mode", where I'd fix any major issue, merge PR's, but not necessarily work on small issues or new features.

Its just the way it is with open source, people don't always have the same time or enthusiasm to carry on a project as they may once have. Peoples life situation changes. It happens to even big projects like GIMP.

But in Avvie's case more specifically, for the scope of what it does, it still works for its purpose. Its just indented to be a cropper, not an image editor suite. Any extra features outside of the essential cropping function are of debatable scope.

"Maintenance Mode" is okay, TauonMusicBox is already pretty feature-rich, I enjoy using it every day!

"abandoned", I don't like this word! 🙄️

  • I understand that, life happens and motivation, thanks you.
  • It's just every week I was testing last version, to give you some feedback and then no more.
  • To me does the job, but have some small bugs that I did report in Issues (tofix).
  • Other small feature like: more aspect ratio presets with keyboard shortcuts 4 faster folder cropping (it's already in todo).
  • Maybe, if you have sometime little time in the future, just check tofix if something is easy/fast to fix, and leave it as stable and feature complete.
  • I'm no programmer, I just did this account to report Issues with some software that I do use every week.
