AUR version does not use sandboxing so has all features enabled (provided optional dependencies installed).
The cursor theme is weird.
This is a limitation of snap.
The text is all boxes.
Try run:
sudo rm /var/cache/fontconfig/*
rm ~/.cache/fontconfig/*
