We may have failed to document it properly, I'm not sure, but you shouldn't have any need for this module with the current versions of ampersand.

The only reason you might need it would be for derived properties as children. Maybe we should fix that too?

I'm asking because we're running version 4.5.3 on production. Latest is 4.6.0

Tried it out. You are right, the only reason I really wrote it was to use it as derived properties. It would be really nice if ampersand-state would let us do that.
