Thanks a lot for your feedback. Let me try to answer your questions step by step.
This is something what you can achieve with the Rules setting. The automatic assignment can then happen via
Expenses always need to be written with a minus. You have at minimum two fields to enter values. One is the total amount of the Transaction, the second one is for how much of this amount will be assigned to the Bucket. This is needed as you can assign one Transaction to multiple Buckets
On Bucket page just put money out of a Bucket with a negative value and then put it somewhere else.
Something what I can try to consider for the future |

Hello!
I have for years used different typer of systems for budgetting.
I started with YNAB for many years, before i used simple excel, and then Actual budget, for some time.
If it had not been that it's easier to fly to Mars than setup actual budget, i would never find OpenBudgeteer!
I really like it, its simple and works already as it is, but i have some question :)
Would it be planning to make Payee find the correct buckets? Lets say that i add Lidl, then i would like it to add the Food buckets?
Do i need to always write amount in the transaction with minus? And why do i need to write it twice? Because the amount can be added more than one buckets?
How would be the best way to move a balance from one buckets to another?
I find it not so easy to see what bucket that has a balance that is in minus, that would be marked as red or something in the bucket line or maybe that where the Data Consistency comes in?
Thank you for an great app! I will continue to use it as my main budget app!
