would like to know - will it work with shibboleth 2?

This storage service will only work on Shibboleth IdP 3, and has only really been tested on 3.4 as that is the only currently supported version of the IdP.

If you are still using version 2 of the IdP, you might consider upgrading, as it has not been supported for several years and has several known (and possibly unknown) security problems of varying degrees of severity.

if i use "shibboleth-sp-utils" (from repositories), am i getting right that this redis addon will not work?
