PPTP VPN configuration guide

Warning! PPTP VPN protocol is not secured! It used just to bypass Internet restrictions.

1. Windows configuration

1.1 Create a new VPN connection

Go to Settings → Network & Internet → VPN → Add a VPN connection.

1.2 Fill connection information

Parameter name	Description
VPN provider	Windows (built-in)
Connection name	Any VPN connection name
Server name or address	VPN IP address
VPN type	Point to Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP)
Type of sign-in info	Username and password
User name	Username from the file /etc/ppp/chap-secrets
Password	Password from the file /etc/ppp/chap-secrets

Press Save button to save settings.

1.3 Connect to the VPN

Select your VPN configuration and press Connect button.

Note! You can also connect to the VPN server in Internet access icon in the taskbar.

2. Android configuration

2.1 Create a new VPN connection

Open VPN settings and press Add VPN button.

2.2 Fill connection information

Parameter name	Description
Name	Any VPN connection name
Type	PPTP
Server address	VPN IP address
PPP encryption (MPPE)	True
Show advanced options	True
DNS search domain	—
DNS servers	8.8.8.8
Forwarding routes	—
Username	Username from the file /etc/ppp/chap-secrets
Password	Password from the file /etc/ppp/chap-secrets

Press Save button to save settings.

2.3 Connect to the VPN

Select your VPN configuration and press Connect button.
