As How to Enable Password Authentication mentioned, the Authentication is supported by the fluentd, including TLS and Password.

This library at the moment is using a tcp connection to make use of the in_tcp plugin in fluentd: https://docs.fluentd.org/v1.0/articles/in_tcp.

As far as I can see, there is no way to handle security or authentication for that.
The in_forward plugin you've linked is used for receiving logs from other fluentd applications/clients.

For security reasons, you may be better off configuring a firewall to sit between fluentd and the applications to control what can access it.

Sorry.
