I just had a peer in Discord attempt to link https://www.instagram.com/reel/C89bK2nO9cB/ and encountered this. They've since changed the link back to IG (and the standard IG embed without media does appear), but I was able to reproduce in DMs to my test account.

I got it working, just not on any posts I tried during the outage
