I'm also running into this. Based on the thread about this on the Fog repo, I think it can be resolved by hard-coding a different Dyn endpoint here:

https://github.com/adamhjk/dynect_rest/blob/master/lib/dynect_rest.rb#L41

I may find time to fork/patch the gem (no promises yet :)
