Different file_storage locations? (images not loading anymore after upgrade)

We upgraded from Akeneo 5 to Akeneo 7.
A lot of images cannot be found anymore.

Looks like Akeneo is checking **var/**file_storage location. However the missing images are stored in **app/**file_storage.
When I move an image from app/file_storage to var/file_storage, the image is showing again and thumbnails are generated.

Is the location changed maybe ?
I cannot find any info about this in the changelog.
