PS2 mode fan speed, safe to go lower % than 40%? #1173
-
i use a PS3 super slim, and i've been trying out a few PS2 games with the PS2 Classic thing. The fan is set at 40% by default for PS2 games. But then when i'm finished playing a PS2 game, i load PS3HEN back again and press Select and Start to check temperatures, and they are much lower than usual. YES, SYSCON is very quiet but temps are too high for my tastes. I did repasted the console too to help with cooling. |

The fan settings depend of many factors including PS3 model, environment temperature, air flow of the area, game being played, termal paste, etc. Therefore there is not a general setting that is valid for everyone. If 40% makes too much noise and your PS3 is cooler than usual, you can try reducing the fan speed gradually and check the results after play the same game for at least 15 minutes or more. The fan settings for PS2 Emulator accepts 20%-95%. |
