Hi! Thanks for sharing your fixes. It is very helpful.

I have a couple more issues. Are they related to you too?

  • The F keys are always on. There are no BIOS settings to toggle them off, and the Fn+Esc combination does nothing.
  • Related to the first problem, I cannot manage the keyboard backlight. It just doesn't work, and I can't find a way to turn it on.

This should solve the keyboard backlight for you.

F Keys are WIP, there is a kernel patch here: flukejones/asusctl#25

I haven't applied it yet, and I dont think it still works since it was developed for 6.8, but I guess you could give it a try.

Also a UX8406MA owner, and would dearly love to see full keyboard multimedia keys support (mute/vol +,-, brightness Fn keys) pushed upstream to kernel. Will watch progress on flukejones/asusctl#25 with interest. Thanks.
