This error usually means the APP_KEY is not formatted correct, check the docs to generate a key

Hi there,

Same problem and I have an encryption key but as you can see, it does not work as soon as I try to browse the webpage :

The key is located in a .env file in the folder config.
I'll try to pass the variable into the docker-compose file and I'll update this post to let you know if it fixes the problem.

No more error (for now) when I configure it in the compose file.
It may be related to my setup (podman rootless) and how it handles permissions on the host server...

Podman is something I haven't dug into yet, but seeing how it's getting increasingly more popular I think it's time to add some instructions for that in the docs. I'll do that in Feb when I'm back from vacation.

Actually, I think it’s more related to the rootless aspect. In a rootless environment, podman (or docker) uses a user ID mapping to map the UIDs and GIDs inside the container. However, the .env file is well detected at startup… Or maybe it’s more generally related to Laravel. I indeed had a lot of problems with containers using Laravel when I was using rootless podman.
