Description

Disabling Full-Site Editing (FSE) on production environments to prevent editors from making fundamental changes to site templates unfortunately also disables the ability to work with Synced Patterns (formerly known as Reusable Blocks). We should have a way to still create, edit, and delete Synced Patterns while locking down access to the rest of Full-Site Editing.

Use Case

As an editor, I want to be able to work with Synced Patterns on a site where Full-SIte Editing is disabled.

Acceptance Criteria

  • Confirm that this is still an issue on the latest version of WordPress.
  • Add code to the theme's customizations that enable synced patterns to work even when FSE is disabled.
