Custom Node Shapes

I see from the documentation that one is allowed to create custom node shapes using paths. There is one point I am not clear on: is it easy to create a custom shape for each node? or is it generally limited to groups of nodes? If possible, can you point me to an example for creating custom shapes for individual nodes? Thanks!

OK.. I was being a bit dense. I think I just need to pass the 'path' into the node object . It will then be passed to the custom shape in 'cfg' just like the example passes the 'size'
