What happened?
The website features social media icons (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, GitHub, etc.) in a vertical sidebar to the left of the main content area. These icons are meant to connect users to the website's social media profiles and foster engagement. However, due to a lack of contrast between the icon colors and their background, the icons are not visually distinct.
Expected Behavior:
The social media icons should be easily identifiable against their background, regardless of the page's theme or color palette. This could be achieved by using a contrasting background behind the icons or providing them in footer or by adjusting the icon colors to ensure they stand out. Clear visibility of these icons will allow users to quickly identify and click on them to visit the website's social media pages.
Actual Behavior:
Currently, the social media icons have a color scheme that blends with the sidebar background, resulting in low visibility. Users might struggle to notice these icons, leading to missed opportunities for engaging with the website's social media channels. The lack of visual distinction makes it harder for users to find and use these icons, negatively affecting the user experience and the website’s ability to drive social interactions.
