I'm not sure if this is an error or just something that is unclear, but it took me a minute to figure out what was going on and I wasn't expecting it -- updating the "Site information" for a particular domain seems to reset the domain's name value as seen on admin/structure/domain with the value from the Site name field.

Following up, I just discovered that subdomain settings can actually be set more reliably on admin/structure/domain when clicking "edit domain" for a particular subdomain and then using the "Settings" tab.

Yes, I was a heavy user of Domain Access on a D7 project about 5-6 years ago. There are some quirky situations where settings can be set in more than one place and it very much matters which one you use.

I have not run into those situations much yet with the Backdrop version, but welcome ideas to improve the UI and/or add important help text for users to understand.

This seems like one of those situations. I'd like to leave this ticket open and look closer at it later to see if there is a way we can help avoid this confusion. Unless you think there is an actual bug here.
