3.0.1 is almost 3 years old now. Many security fixes and improvements have been made. It is no longer a good idea to run this old version.

@binliu19 ,internal research version 3.6 and 3.14,internal optimization 3.0.1 version performance is better than them,but maintenance costs and stability 3.0.1 is best,unless the latest release version can have big breakthrough performance(Improve performance by more than 30%)

The compiled hhvm is old version,many optimize features didn't join in it

@huzhiguang Thanks for your quick response.
I work on HHVM at Facebook. On the Facebook workloads, we have achieved at least 2x speed up (possibly more) in the past 3 years. I am quite curious why the newer versions do not work as well for you. I recently started an effort to optimize the experience of HHVM open-source users. Would you be available for a chat offline on how we can make HHVM work better for you?

Keep in mind that running an old version in production has some security fixes. We back port security fixes to LTS releases, but not all releases.

@binliu19 ,thank you,I let our students research,the lastest version whether HHVM improve performance 2x,,Baidu currently using HHVM at about ten thousand machines,improve performance 2x we will be a great benefits,we'll patch on high-risk bugs,we will follow up your this suggestion.
