How do/can we systematically notify editors about system changes?

I was reading the Data Catalogue documentation, and as I was reading the page about the Column Instance of field, I wondered- if hypothetically, a new term was added to this taxonomy, how would a user with the editor role learn that the new term was added, in case they can use it in a metadata record they previously created?

That's just one example (and maybe not a very good one) of how a system change could be something an editor would want to know about. So the question is- how do / how can we notify users about such changes?

Nicole mentioned that there is a MS Teams group that has been used to share updates to people who have been involved with the project. Do we see this communication channel continuing to play this role as the userbase grows? Are there other approaches/options worth exploring?
