Summary

This compensation request covers work delivered since the previous voting period (for cycle 7) up until just prior to the end of the cycle 8 proposal phase, between 2019-11-11 and 2019-12-12.

As we are using the 90 days average BSQ price for compensation requests, as per accepted proposal 114, and as stated in compensation 414, the BSQ rate for cycle 8 is 0.81 USD per 1 BSQ.

  • Implement installation path check on Windows to mitigate/workaround this issue where the user is unable to launch the application when their username contains special characters

  • Bump javafx version to 11.0.2 to fix a Wayland GDK display issue
  • Fix package.bat version parsing
  • Update strings to reflect Bisq is exchange network

  • v1.2.4 release testing, detailed on TestPad

  • Performed significant exploratory testing attempting to uncover issues focusing around transaction and wallet corruption issues based on issues recently reported by users. The most critical issue identified was Takers deposit transaction rejected for 'too-long-mempool-chain' causing issues.

• Testing Backup, restore and create a new onion address via GUI

• Working on a fix for validating BTC node config

• I am investigating deploying some Tor relays. At this point they are not stable but I do eventually plan on leaving them up permanently and take on a Tor Relay Operator role.
