BCD New Baselines Report
Mon Sep 23 2024

It lists "css ➞ selectors ➞ target-text" as newly Baseline. But click through to MDN, and you'll see that it's not yet Baseline ("limited availability").

This is happening because while ::target-text was added to Firefox this week, it was added in a non-released experimental version of Firefox, 131. Its expected release date is October 1, 2024, in the future. And, for Safari, it was added in the Technical Preview preview version, with no expected release date.

This feature won't be newly baseline until Firefox and Safari both ship the feature. They have plenty of time in the intervening period to withdraw or delay the feature. Only once the feature ship will the 30-month clock start ticking towards Widely Available Baseline.

This has been partly addressed by #77, which updated the verbiage but not the actual file names/directories and not the RSS metadata. Those will need to be addressed separately.
