Motion Sensors and Frigate

I have a bunch of motion sensors in my garage set up in Home Assistant. Can I use those to limit detection or recordings to times when there is motion detected in the garage? I haven't set up cameras yet.

Couldn't he also just write an automation which turns on detection for a camera and waits until the occupancy of that camera is clear again?
But of course this would not be a precise as leaving detection on, switch recordings off, trigger a custom event from the motion sensor, wait for the occupancy to clear and then end the event.

I use the custom events to record streams from to other cameras when one specific camera is triggered. More or less the identical issue, just the trigger ist different.
