TLDR; Yes. Malt needs to include a small part of the Blender C source code in its releases and it needs to be in sync with the Blender build used. In any case, Malt already has its own real-time compositing workflow through Render Nodes, and while it lacks the built-in nodes that Blender has, you can build your own using Screen Shaders. |

The Real-time Compositor patchset has finally been merged into Blender master and it obviously meshes really well with NPR workflows, so when can we expect Malt to be compatible with these builds?
Do we have to wait till 3.4 release? I would use this even if it's just a WIP branch.
