Options for papers with many authors? (60 in my case)

I'm in the process of writing a paper using acmart which, at present, has 60 authors. The number of authors may even increase further in the coming days.

For each author I use:

\author{Bla McBla}                                                              
\orcid{0000-0000-0000-0000}                                                     
\affiliation{%                                                                  
  \institution{Bla University}                                              
}                                                                               
\email{[email protected]}   

I'm seeing that the paper doesn't render correctly with this many authors (the authors trail off the page and the rest of the rendered PDF is just a series of blank pages).

Is there any elegant way to display a large author list while still rendering the paper correctly?

They do not know how to format the papers - the standard ACM system (blocks in conferences, lines in journals) does not work right for them. First of all, thanks for all of your hard work, Boris! This template really is a life saver.

I'm curious as to if there's any updates on this. We're about to put a paper up on arXiv before submitting to an ACM venue with 60+ authors. Any kind of "hack" to get something working would be appreciated.

Currently, when we build, we see a poorly formatted author list followed by 30 blank pages (the paper is 30-ish pages long without the author).
