Here’s what we updated:

• HTTPS-Everywhere is back. Whenever you visit a site which supports HTTPS, your connection automatically gets encrypted if possible.
• Bookmarks are easier to manage.
• Look, gifs are important. We’ve made saving them to your phone work right. You’re free to meme however you please.
• A couple internal optimizations.

Just a small update to fix some bugs with v1.7 release. Thanks very much to everyone who reported these!

Here’s what we updated:

• The New Tab/New Private Tab buttons were missing the long press context menu, so we added that to this release.
• We were blocking links in Bing search results. We’ve fixed that now.
• After upgrading to v1.7, some people saw that their private tabs had opened. We have fixed this bug and will make sure this won’t happen again.

This is a really big release for us. We’ve changed out a bunch of stuff under the hood and rebuilt a lot of other stuff from scratch. Hopefully the only thing you’ll notice is that everything’s smoother and more reliable.

Highlights:

• We’ve changed out the browser engine for WKWebView — that’s the part of the browser which fetches and renders sites. That’s a pretty important, piece, so this is a big upgrade
• We now support even more of the new stuff in iOS 12. We’re really excited about Password AutoFill.
  You can enable AutoFill in the Settings app > Passwords & Accounts > AutoFill Passwords.

This new version of Brave works on devices running iOS 12 and beyond. If you’re still on iOS 11 please upgrade.
