I'm not sure if I'm doing something incorrectly (pretty new to WP), but in a hierarchical page menu set, if I set pages to be "Not in nav" (uncheck the "Visibility" checkbox) they will only disappear from our menus if they are in the top level of the navigation tree.
WP 3.8.1 @ WPEngine.com ... let me know if you need further details, or if there's something I'm missing?
Thanks!

Hi Hugh! What theme are you using? And what menus are you referring to?
The navigation visibility setting is designed to work with template tags and widgets defined by the plugin. If your theme isn't using one of these (i.e. the bu_navigation_display_primary template tag or the "Content Navigation" widget) it's not using that setting.
