Hi Nick, we've observed these externs hanging Max when closing a patcher containing the objects. Seems to happen if a connection couldn't be established, although I'm having trouble finding a consistent test case. Have you observed anything like this?

I have seen this hang-on-free also when the connection comes and goes a few times during the session, FWIW.

i've seen these objects crash my patchers as well with max 7, nearly always, on start of patcher

SInce I just patched up Remy's (broken) code a few years ago I don't know a huge amount about how it works, but there is some subtle threading in there which is probably the culprit. I've recently updated the projects for Xcode 7.2 and the latest Max SDK, so will see if I can reproduce. (I don't have the Windows builds going yet.)

Hi---any updates on this? I'm seeing the same problem.

FWIW, This is on my radar to research further, but it may be a few weeks before I get to it.

That's great to hear @tap. These objects are super useful---I wish I had some time to work on them myself. Let me know if I can help test or anything.
