napari Quarterly Newsletter - Summer 2022
Hello napari community!
We’re thrilled to announce that the napari hub just celebrated its one year anniversary! With over
200 plugins on the hub, we’re kicking off a quarterly newsletter to update the community about
what’s new and upcoming on the hub, so developers and users can get the most out of the hub.
To inform the content of these newsletters, we’d love to hear more about your interests. We aim
to cater our content to our subscribers, so please take 1-2 minutes to tell us about yourselves in
this anonymous survey.

Use Categories to Filter Plugins
Shorten your search for plugins by using the workflow step or image modality categories to filter
your search results on our homepage left sidebar, or on Plugin pages, click the category pill.
Blue pills show the selected categories, and beige pills show other categories for a given plugin.
Try it out on this Plugin page!
Search for Plugins By Author
Use the Author Filter on our homepage left sidebar, or on Plugin pages, click the author
name dropdown to be shown all the Plugins by that author. Check out Nick Sofroniew’s Plugins!
New Plugins
We’ve had 88 new Plugins released since the start of 2022! Below are a couple fun ones from
the last month, but you can check them all out on the napari hub by selecting ‘Newest’ on the home page.

Add a new feature or share a new analysis method with the community by building a napari plugin! Check out this tutorial, presentation, and napari Plugin developer workshop series archive
for info about creating high-quality plugins.

Upcoming Features
Plugin Collections for Discovering and Sharing Plugins
We’re streamlining Plugin discovery and sharing by adding community-curator Plugin Collections that group plugins together in ways not captured by the current categories or other plugin metadata. Check out below the design mockups of the Collection overview and Collection in-
detail pages, and get excited about curating your own Plugin Collection after Collections are added to the hub.
Checklist of Success to Enhance your Plugin
Calling all Plugin Developers! We’ve identified some key tasks that help highlight features of your Plugin and expand your Plugin documentation. Keep your Plugin up to date by completing the checklist. Look out for the checklist rollout in the coming months.
We hope y’all are as excited about these new additions and upcoming features on the hub as we are, and we are so excited to support and expand our community! Help us out by letting us know about you in this 1-2 minute survey.
As always, you can check our roadmap and keep up to date with what we’re working on in our Github repository.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
