How would you define social change?

Since we are collecting social change stories, it becomes interesting to understand the horizons of this term.

To get started with, we'd like to focus on some low hanging fruits that can be attained with policy change. In that sense, we'd initially like to stick with the definition for social change as - any change that can be achieved with updating current policies of the society that can improve the well being of people and planet.

Open to expand the horizons of this definitions, at the same time being realistic of situations at hand.
