How can you submit new translations for Polis?

The Polis participation interface has been translated to a number of languages. When a participant visits the page, a given translation is chosen based on their browser's preferred language settings.

What do you do if you would like to submit an interface translation for a language not currently supported?

Language translations can be submitted by adding a suitable translation file to the client-participation/js/strings directory. Start by copying the contents of the en_us.js file (ideally; or another current translation file if this is not possible) into a new file, named according to its ISO language code (taking care to use underscore _, instead of - in the filename, and ending the filename in .js).

If you use the new file link here to create this page, a GitHub Pull Request will be created with your new file. You can of course also submit a PR directly from a GitHub fork of the project if you like.

Before your translation PR can be merged, your new file will have to be hooked up in client-participation/js/strings.js. Please do this if you are able, and let us know if you are not.
