If you're using the mouse controls to play the game, you can have the mouse cursor leave the game's screen as you're moving your ship by leaving the click button down. After this, the ship will continue turning even if you let go of the mouse control. It takes clicking on the game again for it to stop.

It's better to some extent. The control stick makes it a little better but the click can still lock down if I, 1: hold down the button. 2: have the mouse cursor leave the tab (either bringing it to the task bar or the bookmarks at the top of the browser being used). 3: let go of the click. 4: move the mouse cursor back into the game and you can move your ship without holding the button down. This was tested with Chrome and I haven't confirmed if it's the case with Safari too.
