I know my situation is, once again, unique, but I am constantly having to pop out the SD card and switch hdmi_force_hotplug on and off. This is because I am using a VGA adapter and it needs power over HDMI before it can tell the Pi there's an HDMI connection to be had, so without hotplug enabled it will default to composite out despite being connected to HDMI.
It would save me a lot of time if I could switch this on and off in the settings.

@ParticlesIntoWaves noted - this is possible and not too difficult as there is already code switching the sd video settings etc. will include this on the next version
