Reported by @ways2read:

I expected to navigate to the menu bar “file, view help” with alt+F or alt, or F10. But I haven’t found a way to do this just yet.

This appears to be an electron issue:
electron/electron#15302

If you follow the thread down, it seems like a very recent fix may have made it into a release.

And, electron 4.0 just came out:
