It is hard to make splout-service.sh work by default with any possible installation of Hadoop, namely any combination of: YARN / MR1 / MR2 / installation via apt-get / manual installation.
The problem resides in setting the appropriate classpath for each case.
The script should work by default with the most common scenarios. Then, each particular scenario should be documented so that the user can tune it with auxiliary env. vars such as SPLOUT_CLASSPATH.
