Discuss: Are we using the trust bonus for the MVP for GR11? #106
-
Some context from centralized grants: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KP67YMBNr3OKMMMBh7GIwDoysjBfES8Pch4PN-LBGQU/edit Is there a difference between trust bonus in this case as compared to sybil score? Does one inform the other, or are these two separate inputs? What happens if someone doesn't have a trust bonus score? Frank's recommendation: For the MVP, we can have stand-ins / connectors setup for any type of sybil score / trust bonus related, and just proceed to GR11 without the use of these. We can also add the complexity of sybil detection after the MVP. |

Answering my own question. Sybil scores will most likely be used for after-contribution calculations, which may or may not eliminate folks from the end results, trust bonus scores are used to modify the CLR output for folks' contribution. If someone doesn't have a trust bonus score, we can either award them 0 or dampen them a certain amount. Right now, each trust bonus is worth some percentage of 15% up to 50%. What we do currently is utilize trust bonus scores as percentage points. Every user starts at 50%, and they have the possibility of identity-verifying up to 150%. This means if they don't verify, their CLR match will be halved (everyone starts at 50%) and if they max out their trust bonus (150%), their CLR match will be 1.5x'ed. This is easy to change, so I would recommend we start with this. |
