"accessibility features" under osx monterey

I just upgraded to monterey and barrier (2.4.0 -- both .dmg and via homebrew) keeps telling me that it needs me to enable accessibility access when I start it, even though it's has permissions:

I've tried turning it off and back on, but no joy. Also deleting and reinstalling. Can't find anything about this is Issues or Discussion. Any ideas?

Sorry to follow up on my own post, but I just realized -- that if I start it from the command line: % /Applications/Barrier.app/Contents/MacOS/barrier, everything's fine. The problem only happens when I open Barrier.app
