Tried to install and use barrier but there is no documentation about how to use or set this software so I was unable to have it working.

SSL fails to be detected, the control does not pass to the other computer when reaching the screen border, and so on.

Hey I'm not a dev but use this, so I want to help you figure it out!

In simple terms you should disable SSL on both client and server (never got it to work at least), and on the server (the computer that has the KBM you want to use to control others), you should choose Customize Server and drag monitors from the top right to the sides you want them to be at, and set their names to the hostname of the PC.

After that, set the client's connection IP to the server's local IP, start (or restart) the server, and check if you can connect with the clients.

If all goes well, should work! Hope this helps

hey thanks for tying to help.

I would disagree with you though, one should not disable SSL and security measure because the software is buggy as hell. one should use another software that actually works.

barrier borken ssl support is a long standing issue (reported over 5 years ago) that has had a workaround published by users in support tickets for over 3 years now, so this part has been documented: #231 (comment)

the part you are giving details is actually the only things that is officially documented in the usage section of the github project page. except you mistakenly say one has to use the machine hostname which is not the case.

nevertheless ssl / no ssl, matching screen names, matching with hostnames, and so on, all this steps I have done and it still does not work.
there are other software kvm but they seem to not yet be ready for use, so I settled on buying a hardware kvm which works.
