It would be great to be able to view a datapoint on click - either as a thumbnail or opened in a new tab. It is worth noting that I am not referring to viewing the x,y,z coordinates of a point but viewing a semantic representation.

For example, if we perform dimensionality reduction on image data, it would be nice to be able to click on a point in the visualized space and view the original image. I have currently been imagining that this should be possible if we could associate some sort of metadata with the point that could then be interpreted by the visualizer (ie, if it is a url, open it in a new tab; if it is an image, show a thumbnail). The best path forward is non-obvious though...
