When creating a post or replying and you are mentioning users with @, you currently need to type the account name yourself. This can result in typos and the user would not be notified.

It would be very helpful to show a list of users matching the characters typed. This is already implemented at the search box:

Ow nice! Sometimes I do not know whether I should create a ticket here or in the CIP repo. CIP feels more conceptual and for broader ideas and this one is specific for the FE.

No you're right, this is a very silly type of thing to have to create a CIP for.

Heads up that you can use https://bitclout.plus which adds this feature.

@iPaulPro you could create a cip to change what needs cip 😅

but right now this requires adding component so would be classed as medium cip

@tijno Got it. I'll navigate to that CIP to ask if there is any news/progress.

@iPaulPro Nice work! I think we can agree that this functionality should be available within the FE.

Now why would I want to waste my time doing that? Perhaps once my first CIP is addressed, from over 3 weeks, I'll consider making more. Right now it seems that CIPs are largely ignored by the core team.

Having to create a CIP for a simple feature request, for a centralized frontend client, doesn't really make much sense and makes this Github experience way more confusing for the regular (non-dev) user.

I want to contribute, but I need help. I have front-end experience.
