I have a bot in a server that has a "bookmark" context menu command (for messages). This command sends a link to the message to the user's DMs, so they can add a note and refer to the message later via the link. When I brought this up in the DDevs server, it was explained that this is intentional as a bot response would effectively allow a user to post in that channel when they shouldn't. However, this does not account for ephemeral responses, where only the user calling the context menu command will see the bot answer. In these cases, I think Discord should respect the |

I just played around with this using user context commands and was unable to repro this issue. Please comment if you're still seeing this behavior, but closing this for now. |
