Existem vários niveis de formalidade quando se fala português. Em português de
Portugal usa-se a primeira pessoa do plural (você) para um aspeto mais formal
e a segunda pessoa do singular (tu) para um aspeto informal. O problema é que
não existe nenhuma notação que fique entre os dois. Por esta razão, a tradução
deve incluir o menos possivel referências à primeira pessoa do plural (você)
e nenhuma referência à segunda pessoa do singular (tu), pois este regime é
informal demais. Quando digo que deve incluir o menor número de referências
possiveis à primeira pessoa do plural, refiro-me à conjugação dos verbos e ao
uso do pronome em si.
There are many levels of formality when you talk portuguese. In european
portuguese, we use the first person of plural (você, equivalent to you) for
a more formal aspect and the second person of singular (tu, also equivalent
to you) for a informal aspect. The problem is that there's no notation
in-between. For this reason the translation should include the least possible
references to the first person of plural (você) and no references to the
second person of singular (tu), as this form is too informal. When I say
that it should include the least possible references to the first person of
plural I am referring to the verb conjugation and the use of the pronoun
itself.
